Meet Dr. Warr and Our Team

Dr. Gary J. Warr, DDS

A graduate of the University of Michigan, he continued his education at the esteemed University of Detroit Dental School. Dr. Warr has been an active member in good standing in the American, Michigan and the Oakland County Dental Associations. Dr. Warr was recently installed as a Life Member of the ADA.

At the present time, Dr. Warr is licensed to practice dentistry in California as well as in Michigan. He has been a delegate and served on the board of directors for the Oakland County Dental Association for four years. Dr. Warr has been recognized in Hour Detroit as one of the top area dentists for 11 consecutive years.

Besides dentistry, Dr. Warr’s interests include golfing, travel and photography.

A visit to the office features an impressive display of photographs taken by Dr. Warr. Despite his interests, Dr. Warr’s main passion is state of the art, top-notch caring dentistry: “We get to know all of our patients on a first name basis and consider them our friends. In fact, many of them have been our friends for a long time. I hope to see you soon.”

I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oakland University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with an extended associate degree in applied science. I have been a registered dental hygienist for over 20 years. I will go beyond thoroughly cleaning your teeth. I am committed to giving you sound reasons and improved skills to keep your teeth for life. Your comfort is of the utmost importance to me. I will treat you like the VIP you are. Dental Assistant

My name is Muhi-Eddin (Sam) Alkawa, I am a Syrian dental Assistant who speaks Arabic, French, and English, I specialized in Paris- France in three different areas: fixed and movable prosthodontics, Endodontics where I was a professor adjunct, practiced as a prosthodontist in Saudi Arabia for four years. I just started a year ago assisting Dr. Warr in his dental office, and since, I have had new experiences and new skills in dentistry with a brilliant great Dr.
I love music, fashion, and languages.

My name is Joy. I’m a team member and Dental Hygienist at Dr. Warr’s office and have been A Dental Hygienist for nearly twenty-five years. Some of the things I like to do in my spare time include fitness training, reading books, traveling, visiting art museums, festivals, and anything music related. I hope to see and meet you soon!

Office Manager

My career in dentistry spans over twenty-five years. In that time I have had the opportunity to see many changes in the profession. My training includes extensive experience in the field of Dental Implantology, dental insurance and reimbursement as well. The most rewarding part of my job is helping people obtain that “Happy Healthy Smile”! I spend much of my free time with my four grandchildren, especially my two grandsons who play travel hockey. Did I mention I have a new puppy, Cali?

Patient Receptionist

I began working with Dr. Warr in 1982, and have been his Saturday receptionist ever since. After owning my own daycare center, I’m now semi-retired. My husband’s name is Tom, and we have three children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. I enjoy being able to spend time with her family at our lake cottage in Houghton Lake, and I love to crochet.
